PhD candidate Ronal De La Cruz-Araujo and undergraduate researcher Luis Nieves presented their research findings at the Forward Research and Innovation Summit organized by the Puerto Rico Science, Technology and Research Trust. The event was held at the Sheraton Convention Center on September 17, 2016.
“The most important message I take from some of the presentations that I attended is that “for the development of a country the key is to work to get the best potential of each individual and not only provide opportunities for talented people” . What I noted is that there are still persons trying to get the best potential of people regardless of race, sexual choice, or physical limitations. A clear example is the case of Wanda L. Diaz Merced.” – Ronal De La Cruz-Araujo
“Research can sometimes be very abstract and separated from real life. The Forward Summit provided a great opportunity to connect my research with the reality in Puerto Rico, and to think how what I create can become a product or a company that can benefit the country some day. That served as a great motivator, and the conference is something I would recommend to every researcher on the island.” – Luis Nieves
