A postdoctoral position is available at the University of Puerto Rico – Mayagüez (UPRM) in collaboration with the University of Wisconsin – Madison (UWM) to work on the modeling and simulation of autonomous active colloidal particles in anisotropic fluids. This work will be conducted under the supervision of Dr. Ubaldo M. Córdova-Figueroa from the Department of Chemical Engineering at UPRM.
We are seeking candidates who are highly motivated and career-oriented. Candidates are expected to have a PhD degree in engineering, physics, mathematics or related fields, as well as skills in grant writing.
Salary, benefits and visa sponsorship: The initial appointment will be for a period of 12 months, renewal will be granted at this period based on satisfactory performance and the availability of funds. The salary is approximately $40,000 per year plus additional fringe benefits (e.g. health insurance, faculty aids). UPRM will sponsor a visa for non-US citizens/permanent residents if they are found to be eligible candidates. The postdoc will also be exposed to a mentoring program and professional development activities
